Last chance to join London 2012 Inspire programme

13 Oct 2011
Non-commercial projects and events inspired by London 2012 have until 1 December 2011 to apply to be a part of the Games.
Over 10 million people have already participated in Inspire projects across the UK.
An Olympic and Paralympic first, the London 2012 Inspire programme enables organisations across the UK to officially link their projects to the London 2012 Games.
Organisations that join the programme will be awarded the Inspire mark and can use this special logo to promote their project or event as well as show that they are part of London 2012.
London 2012 Organising Committee Chair Seb Coe said: ‘I’m delighted that we already have so many fantastic, innovative projects that are using the Games to inspire and engage their local communities and we look forward to supporting and showcasing these brilliant projects next year.
'I urge more organisations to sign up and use this opportunity to play their part in London 2012.’
Millions of people across the UK have already been a part of the Games through the involvement in an Inspire project. There are over 1,700 projects and events in the Inspire programme, which has been running for three years.
Earlier this year, the 1,500th Inspire mark was awarded to the West Midlands Fire Service in recognition of its Fire Fit community engagement programmes.
Once applications close in December, London 2012 will focus on supporting and showcasing the existing projects and events.
